1) Comb
A comb is far more suitable than a brush, even if you have curly hair. Wet your hair before proceeding, and section it with a wide-tooth comb, possibly a wooden one. You can use a plastic one with narrower teeth if you have fine hair instead. A metal tail comb would be perfect for cutting straight lines, and symmetrical haircuts.
