7) Marigold
Marigold gives off a really strong smell, which seems to have a repellent effect against mosquitoes and other insects, including pests. In fact, it can even be planted in the vegetable garden, between plants, as a natural pesticide. It can also be grown in pots, perhaps on the balcony, or even indoors.
