5) Lavender to get rid of woodworms
As just said, one of the biggest problems with wood is woodworms. Lavender represents an unpleasant
scent for them. In order to get rid of them, mix 1 liter of water (2 pints) with 250 ml (8 oz) of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of lavender; then let it sit overnight at room temperature. The next day, dip a sponge in the lavender solution and rub it on the furniture; let it dry naturally. Alternatively, you can use lavender essential oil to make DIY soaps to store in closets and drawers. Melt some pieces of soap in a double boiler and add a few drops of lavender oil. Once it gets solid, your soap is ready for use. You can also rely on the classic lavender flower sachets.
