director of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and oncologist. Excessive salt leads to high blood pressure, and to a major risk of developing tumors. These include stomach, throat and pancreatic cancer. In addition, a high intake of salty foods causes also other health problems, such as cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis and obesity.
